OXtender is not activated when Outlook starts the first time - How to activate OXlook add-in?

Concern:

After starting Outlook an error message is shown, that the OXtender plugin (oxlook.dll) could not be loaded. The user is asked whether the plugin should be deactivated.

Reason:

This error occurs if a user tries to logon the first time while the OXtender is already installed and a profile for this user has not been created yet.

Solution:

1) The user has to answer the question regarding the deactivation of the plugin with "no", OXtender will be loaded after the next Outlook restart.

2) The user has to reactivate the plugin via "?" -> "About/Info" -> "deactivated elements" within Outlook.

Outlook 2003:
In case the Plugin is not shown as "deactivated " within the "About" dialog, it might also became deactivated anyway. Please also check "Extras" -> "Options" -> "More" -> "Extended Options" -> "Add-In-Manager": "OXlook" must be checked.

Outlook 2007:
Please go to:  "Extras" -> "Trust Center". Choose  "Add-Ins" in the list on the left side of the Trust Center window. Choose Disabled Items in the Manage drop-down menu at the bottom of the Trust Center window and Click Go.
